New Stroller

I think they like their new stroller. We took it to the River Parks today to try it out. I took these pictures with my phone, they're not the best, but they're still cute!

Rogan's shower

Brian's office held a really nice shower for us last night. We received way too much and came home last night and started to put things together, with Brice's help of course. I have to say my favorite gift is the double jog stroller. I am so excited to have it and know I'll use it all the time. Brice tested it out last night and agrees it will come in handy!
Rogan received a new swing. He's been using his brother's and seems to like this one better. He sits and smiles at the toucan and frog that dangle from the palm leaf.
Brice is thankful that his brother finally got his own swing. He's had a tough time lending his to his brother. Whenever Rogan was not swinging, Brice would come by and have a seat for a while and reminisce. He's glad he finally got his stuff back. I guess we're going to have to work on this sharing thing a little more :)
We also received clothes, bath towels, burp clothes, onesies, picture frame, gift cards, sleepers, toys and a lot more. Thanks so much everyone!

Fair

We couldn't wait for Tulsa's fair to start this week, so we got a jump on it all and headed to the Oklahoma/Arkansas border this weekend and went to the Oklahoma/Arkansas State Fair. It was much less impressive than the Tulsa State Fair, but the usual cast of characters where there for our enjoyment. I mainly attend the fair for the people. It seems to bring out all sorts.
Even though the fair this weekend was small they had a lot for Brice to do. He ran from one end of the petting zoo to the other. I don't think he missed anything. Brice's highlight of the fair was the Batman inflatable that he won. Batman has not left his side since we got home.

Earning His Keep!

I guess we've decided it's time for Brice to earn his keep around here. Instead of riding his new bicycle or his scooter the other night he thought it would be way more fun to help his dad finish the yard work. Brian had blown the grass clippings into a pile, and was ready to sweep them into the garbage when Brice came over and scattered it to the four winds. It was hilarious. Brice didn't understand why his dad didn't think it was fun to sweep, scatter, sweep, scatter... Finally, Brice caught onto the process and helped his dad get it all cleaned up. It only took about 20 minutes :)

He loves his brother!

Over the last couple of days I have wanted and tried to get a picture of the boys together. I've mainly been able to get pictures of Rogan alone, because he is the only one who will hold still.

Brice would rather show me his dinosaurs...
or his John Deere tractor and trailer...
Then finally yesterday, I asked Brice to come lay down by his brother and let me take a picture. He did it! For a split second, he laid down and I was able to get one picture of them together. Yeah!

This morning I was trying to make it up to Rogan for being the second child and take more pictures of him. I have hundreds of pictures of Brice when he was a baby but this time I haven't been as good at taking pictures.
Brice came in to see what was going on. I asked him if he would lay down by his brother so I could take his picture. He struck a pose and this is the picture I was able to get. Then he bent over and gave his little brother a kiss! I actually had my camera still in my hand and I was able to get a picture. Now when they are older and bickering, which I know will come someday, I'll have photographic proof that he really does love his little brother.

Happy Birthday Brian!

Brian was out of town on his birthday yesterday. He flew home this morning and ran off to work as soon as he landed. He'll be home early tonight and we can't wait to celebrate his birthday a day late. He gets overlooked every year since his birthday is so close to Brice's. His favorite mother-in-law baked him an apple pie and made him chili before she left this morning.

Happy 32nd Birthday!

My mom came here last Friday and helped with Brice's party then stayed the first part of this week while Brian was gone. My dad has been gone too. He's not going to let us have anymore kids, every time we do two hurricanes hit. Brice was born during Rita and Katrina and Rogan brought Gustav and Ike.

Mom and I took the kids to the aquarium yesterday and the boys have had fun hanging with their grandma. Brice was sad to see her go this morning and said, "wait, wait, oh no" as she backed out of the driveway. She's always a big help and we appreciate it.

Brice Turns 3!

Brice's birthday was yesterday and he had his party at Pump It Up. It is a party zone with the large inflatable slides, bounce houses, etc. He had so much fun. His friend Ryan (who turned 3 a couple of weeks ago) and he had a co-birthday party. We had a lot of kids from the neighborhood, family, and friends. The kids played and bounced for a little over an hour then had cupcakes, crackers, juice and opened presents. I think everyone had fun and we were all exhausted when it was over. It was a pretty good day to turn 3.

September 3, 2008

It has been pretty quiet around here lately. We haven't been up to much. We went to the Cherokee Heritage Festival in Tahlequah last Sunday and Brian's parents came down to visit us last Saturday. Everyone will be coming to our house this Friday and Saturday for Brice's third birthday. Hard to believe he's three already.

Here are a few pictures that I've taken recently. Brice is really starting to like his little brother. He gives him a zerbert on the forehead. For those unfamiliar with zerberts it's when you blow on their bellies and make them laugh. Brice gives Rogan his on the forehead for some reason. In the picture where Brice is bending down towards Rogan, that's what he's doing. He has also become a big helper. He likes to hold the bottle and help pat him on the back when we burp him.

Cute Bags and Things

A lady that I've met through the Parents as Teachers program makes these bags in her home and they are really cute. I thought some might be interested and I told her I would post her link on my blog. The baseball bag featured on her blog is the one I have. It's a good diaper/toy bag for the boys.
