The Boys

It's been raining all week but we still managed to take a few pictures.

A busy week

Since Brian has been gone all week, the boys and I have tried to keep busy and spend as much time outdoors as possible. We went to the park, had a picnic, and played at the playground. Wednesday, I took the boys and had their pictures taken. I'm very excited about getting those back and will post them as soon as I do. Yesterday, we went to Oklahoma City with our friend Reagan and her son Hayden. We had planned to go to the zoo, but when we arrived the parking lot was full and the overflow lot had approximately 50 school buses. We decided we didn't want to even attempt it so we turned around and drove to Bricktown in downtown Oklahoma City and spent the day along the riverwalk. We took the kids to Bass Pro and ate at Coach's restaurant overlooking the baseball field. We also had ice cream at Marble Slab Creamery. We had a very fun day and the kids were exhausted. We were pretty active this week so time passed quickly and the boys were very excited to see their daddy when they woke up this morning. Brian had a difficult trip home from Nashville yesterday, he was delayed in Atlanta for about two hours and thought his flight was going to be cancelled. He didn't make it home until after 12:30 a.m., but he at least made it home. He went in a little late this morning and was able to play with the kids before heading into work. He is coming home early today and he said he's bringing home dinner (Yay for me!). We have had a very busy two weeks and Brian is tired of being in airports and dealing with travel delays. We plan to spend the weekend together and just hang out around home. Brice strutting his stuff at the playground for two little girls. He was also blowing them kisses when they walked by the swings. Rogan loves the swings!Hayden and the boys at Bricktown.Brice checking out the fish tank at Bass Pro Shops. You'll note the Do Not Climb on Rocks sign next to him, as he's climbing on the rocks.Brice watching the fish.

Rogan being his happy self!

Seattle

We had a great time in Seattle. It's absolutely beautiful in Washington and Canada and we wished we would have had more time there. We were able to take a boat to Victoria, British Columbia, see a Mariner's game, visit Pike Public Market, the piers, and eat plenty of king crab legs.
Pike Public Market where Tom Hanks stood in Sleepless in Seattle.
If you buy a fish at the market, they sing, throw it around, wrap it up and then toss it to you.
We took a two hour boat cruise over to Canada to visit Victoria.
The Parliment building in Victoria, British Columbia. Brian's favorite thing about Canda is the Cuban cigars.
We visited Butchart Gardens while in Victoria.
During our two hour ride over, we passed the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln in Puget Sound. The ship had just returned from Iraq and was heading back out to sea.
Like I said we ate crab legs...twice.
Despite how gray some of the pictures may look, it only rained a few hours one day while we were there. It was cold in Canada, but the sun came out in the afternoon. In Seattle, the weather was mild in the high 50's to low 60's everyday. It was cloudy and cool in the mornings but the sun always came out in the afternoons. We had a great time and cannot wait to go back someday. We did not get a chance to see Mt. Rainer, The Space Needle, go whale watching and many other things on our list left to do.

Trip Home

Brian and I finally made it home from Seattle yesterday afternoon. I say finally because the last leg of our trip was an adventure. We made it to Houston Saturday night about 1 hour and 20 minutes behind schedule. We knew we were close but we could still probably make our plane, we checked the status as we were taxing toward our gate and it had been cancelled. No big deal, except it was the last flight to Tulsa that night. We stood in line with hundreds of other displaced travelers for about 2 1/2 hours to speak to a customer service agent. We were told we would not be able to get a flight to Tulsa until Monday. Not really too big of a deal except Brian had to leave on a flight Sunday for Alabama. We were able to get a flight to Fayetteville, AR Sunday morning but they were not sure where our luggage would go...awesome. With a little luck we were able to get a hotel room for the night and the airline gave us a gift bag with travel basics...toothpaste, shampoo, etc. We made it to our hotel room around 2 a.m. after being driven around the city by our taxi driver even though our hotel was approximately 1 mile from the airport. I guess he thought we needed to see the city lights and we probably had some extra money to pad his wallet...gee thanks. We got up Sunday morning and it took us no time at all to get to the airport, because we just had to get up and put on the same old clothes again...yuck. We made our flight to Fayetteville yesterday morning then rented a car and drove 2 hours home. Brian was able to spend about an hour with the kids before he headed back to the airport to fly to Alabama. Whew, we're exhausted. Despite it all, we had a great time and laughed through most of it. Of course, there were plenty of opportunities to quote Ben Stiller in Meet the Parents and we experienced several of those movie moments while stranded in Houston International Airport. Surprisingly, our bags were delivered to our house yesterday evening and they were the right ones! A big thanks to Brian's parents for watching the boys and staying an extra night while we were stuck in Houston. I know the boys had a great time and they both slept through the night last night. I'm sure Grandpa took plenty of pictures and as soon as I get them I'll post them.

9 Months

Rogan is 9 months old today. We went to the doctor this afternoon for his check up. He's a healthy 9 month old baby boy. He weighs 20 lbs 1.5 oz and is 29 3/8 inches long. He is in the 45th percentile for his weight but the 85th for his height. He's eating well and we were told to continue with soft solid foods and to work towards removing formula from his diet. He is pulling up to his knees and has pulled up to a standing position a few times. He crawls all over the place and looks for something to get into. He is also sleeping through the night, woo hoo! We made it through this winter with no illnesses and he has two teeth which are working their way through his bottom gums. He hasn't been too fussy about teething. He's growing so fast, it seems like I am cleaning out his dresser drawers every other week and donating clothes he has out grown. It seems like he out grew the baby stage much more quickly than Brice. His first year has gone by much faster it seems.

It's Spring Again

Well the weather was beautiful today, 74 degrees and lots of sunshine. The boys and I headed out early this morning to our favorite spot to spend a day outdoors, the zoo. We had a great time as you can see.
