For Fun

I was on the computer today saving photos and cleaning up files. I came across these two photos and thought it was a fun comparison. Brian and I have been hanging out together for a long time. Enjoy, Brian and I got a good laugh at our own expense.

HalloZooWeen

We took the kids to the zoo last night. Brice had so much fun. He had it all figured out this year. He understood he received candy at each station. The weather was perfect, so we didn't have to bundle up. They had a bounce house, hay maze, bean bag toss and of course lots of candy. Brice was mad before we left because he didn't understand why he couldn't take all his Hot Wheels. He had his trick or treat bag full of them, I tried to tell him he needed to leave room for candy, but he wasn't having it. He got over the Hot Wheels and was very excited when we got to the zoo.

Pumpkin Carving

Brian and Brice carved their pumpkin last Saturday. It turned out great. They carved Davey Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean this year. Brian really looks forward to carving a pumpkin each year and I think he gets more excited about it than Brice. Brice wasn't much help cleaning out the inside of the pumpkin, be he was a big help making sure his dad did it correctly.

The Park

I got the bright idea last weekend that we should go to the park and take some photos. The trees are pretty right now and the grass is still green so I thought we could get some nice pictures of us with the kids. What was I thinking? You cannot photograph Brice. The child will not sit still for a picture and he refuses to look up at the camera. He did have fun though, he chased squirrels up every tree in the park and the weather was great.

I was able to get a few good pictures when we got home. The last one is definitely my favorite.

Growing Boys

Rogan is 3 1/2 months old now. He is changing so quickly. I thought I should post some recent pictures of him. He smiles constantly and has the cutest little dimple. I took these pictures yesterday and he would smile every time the flash went off. He's still getting up once a night, but he goes right back to sleep. He continues to sleep a lot during the day, but it allows me to do one on one activities with Brice. I think this prevents Brice from feeling like he's left out or forgotten since his baby brother arrived. He hasn't been jealous of his brother so maybe this is part of the reason why. Today Brice and I put together his dinosaur puzzle and he was pretty proud of it and sat for me to take a picture of him. I continue to be amazed that Brice is actually starting to sit still long enough to read a story, put a puzzle together, color, etc. He hasn't slowed down much, but he is definitely changing. He's becoming a big boy I guess. Enjoy the pictures.

Our Weekend

We had a busy weekend this weekend. We got up early on Sunday and Brice helped me cook breakfast. He has become my little helper on everything that I do now. After breakfast and a quick trip to Sam's Club, we took the boys to Pumpkin Town so Brice could pick out our pumpkins this year. Pumpkin town has pony rides, play areas, a hay ride, inflatable slide and other activities for the kids. Brice's main priority was to see how fast he could push the wagon. After picking out his pumpkins, he helped his dad push the wagon to the car. He was bent over and running and forcing Brian to jog to the car. It was hilarious. Most of my pictures are of Brice's back because it's impossible for me to keep up with him while carrying Rogan in the Baby Bjorn carrier.

When we got home, Brian's grandfather and his wife Barbara came over to visit us and to see the boys. Brice showed his great-grandpa how to paint a pumpkin.

7 Random Facts

I was tagged by my cousin in-law Jennie to post 7 random and/or little known facts about myself so here it goes...

1. I love westerns. My favorite movie is Open Range. I think the gun battle at the end is the best I've ever seen.
2. My current ringtone on my cell phone is The Dukes of Hazzard Theme song. My favorite show from childhood. "Just the good ol' boys, never meanin' no harm..."
3. I have one tattoo. It's on my ankle and means mother.
4. I'm working out with a personal trainer. It hurts and it's hard, but I love it.
5. I hate long toenails, even if they are polished and pedicured they gross me out. I cut mine as short as possible and believe everyone should do the same.
6. I love to fish, especially with night crawlers and a bobber. If I could fish everyday I would. I cannot wait until my boys are old enough to take them fishing and to own a boat again.
7. I want to live in a cooler climate. I miss trees and hills and dislike Oklahoma summers. I would love to live farther north on a lake someday.

That's a little more about yours truly and I guess it's my turn to tag someone else. I tag Val or Sarah to keep up this string of useless information.

Halloween Costumes

We decided this year we just wanted Brice to be comfortable in his Halloween costume. We go to the zoo every year and he runs around and plays on the bounce houses, etc. We didn't want him to be restricted or to feel confined in a costume. We found him a skeleton sweatsuit and he loves it. I also found some gloves at Wal-Mart that are skeleton hands and they glow in the dark. He has worn them to bed because he thinks they are so neat. We found a very cute skeleton outfit for Rogan to wear too. We are going to have two skeletons for this Halloween. I tried to take a few pictures of them in their outfits today with little success.

The Geese

Our neighborhood has several ponds and one of our favorite activities is to go for a walk and to feed the geese. Today, Brice had so much fun feeding them crackers. We seem to have a lot of geese on the ponds right now and they are not afraid of people. I think they are fed all the time and they will walk right up to you. Brice doesn't like it when they get too close, he tells them, "No, get away, get away". Here are some photos from our walk today.

Flowers

Monday night, Brian had forgotten something at his office and needed to run back downtown. He took Brice with him to go along for a ride. On their way back home they decided to stop by the store and buy me some flowers. Ahhh, how sweet.

When they got home, Brian unloaded Brice from the car and told him he should carry the flowers into mom. He didn't really think Brice would do it. Instead, Brice stood by the car and waited for Brian to get the flowers out and to unlock the front door. He came in carrying the bouquet in his arms and went looking throughout the house for me. I was in the closet putting away laundry and came out into the bedroom and met my sweet little guy with a big bouquet of flowers in his arms. He reached out and handed them to me and said, "here you go!" He then took off running to find his dad to show him what he had done. It was really cute. The best flowers I've ever received for sure.
