Birth Parent Meeting

I met with the birth mother yesterday afternoon for about 2 1/2 hours.  We met at the adoption agency and our social worker sat down with us to make the introductions, keep the conversation going and prevent awkwardness.  The birth mother decided she wanted to meet with me alone because the birth father was unable to meet and she wanted to wait and meet Brian when the birth father was available too.

We sat down in the social worker's office, introduced ourselves and just chatted. It was very easy conversation. She did not ask me many questions it was mostly small talk.  I believe she just wanted to get to know me.  She has a son Rogan's age (they look a lot a like too!) and we compared photos, talked about our boys and laughed.  It was easy and comfortable.

The birth father is still struggling with his decision, therefore we continue to be guarded with our feelings.  We hope he will find peace with his decision whatever the outcome.

The birth mother had a doctor's appointment an hour before our meeting and the doctor moved her delivery date up to June 14th.  Let me repeat...June 14th!  The original due date was the 26th of June.  June 14th is right around the corner!  If the baby has not arrived by the 15th the doctor plans to induce. A sweet baby girl may be making an appearance any day now.
