An Indoor Campout
We took the boys by Bass Pro yesterday for a small outing to get us all out of the house. Sickness be gone!
Besides the big fish tank the boys love to play in the tents. When we came home we set up their tent and they spent a large part of the day playing in and around their tent. They were unfortunately attacked by pterodactyls. Fortunately, Brice was there to save his brother from the attacking dinosaurs. Whew!

No, that is not a new Cindy Crawford type mole on Brice's lip. Actually, it is a little leftover cookie from cookies n' cream ice cream. He was saving a little for later I guess.

Thank God for DP
If Amoxicillin were a street drug...
we could be king pins.
Everyone in my house is now officially on a round of antibiotics, except me knock on wood. *knock knock knock* Brian has strep throat, boys have ear infections.
I've decided to hit the hard stuff.
A little bit of liquid heaven.

Adoption Forms
I came across the following post in another blog forum I belong to. I thought many of you may find her resources helpful.
Hey, everyone!
Hey, everyone!
I've read through and seen some of the adoption discussions and I thought I would let you know that I recently started a blog to help those "starting out". My husband and I have adopted two children internationall (from India) and are currently paperchasing in the attempt to adopt another child domestically. As we have gone through our adoptions I have created several forms to keep us organized, somewhat like a wedding planner book would do. Most of the forms are intended for international adoption right now, but I intend to put up forms for domestic adoption as I create those...as well as more of my international adoption forms.

Agency Recommendation
I do not know if any of my readers are in the state of Michigan, if so the following email came across my inbox and may be beneficial to you. The email was from someone who has used their services successfully. I have no personal experience with the agency.
Heaven Sent Adoption Services, Inc. in Michigan is a good referral service. Shelia Davis, the founder has both a full-fledged agency and a referral service. You can check out her website to see current situations and the fees associated with them as set by the birth-mothers' attorneys and agencies. To sign with Heaven Sent and be among the first to receive notice of the situations it is only $100 (at least that is what it was in 2008) and then there is an additional fee (in 2008 $1,000) if you receive a placement through her referral service.

Oh Yeah, He's Adopted
The boys have both been sick recently. Actually we have all been sick this winter. Last Saturday, Rogan had to go to the urgent care clinic. When the doctor came in to examine Rogan he asked, "Do you have asthma in your family?" "Oh yes, his dad has asthma....oh wait but he is adopted." Rogan ended up having croup and an ear infection. After a breathing treatment and a few prescriptions we were sent home.
Yesterday, it was Brice's turn. He had been up all night the night before coughing and had told me his ear hurt. I took him to the doctor yesterday afternoon. Brice ended up having an ear infection too. The doctor prescribed an antibiotic and a prescription cough medicine with codeine to help him sleep at night. As I was telling my mom about the doctor's visit and the medication prescribed she reminded me to be aware of codeine reactions. I said, of course we will keep a close eye on him. She said, you know you are allergic, I am allergic, and your dad has had a bad reaction before. Yes I said, I would be more worried but I did not make him remember?
You sort of forget. Your children are such a part of you, even when you do not give birth to them. I blog several times a week about adoption and I have to stop and think during doctor visits. We have to remind ourselves their health history is not related to our own.

But still miraculously my own.

Under the Weather
We have been fortunate enough this winter to have every illness that has passed through Oklahoma. Today the boys were finally able to eat lunch together. Poor little Rogan who has had croup was back on his feet. We are still fighting coughs and runny noses but hopefully we are on the downhill side of things.
He's back!
He's back!
