He would generally stay in one place for no more than a few weeks because of his deep fear of being abandoned once again by care givers trying to parent him. He acted out behaviorally in an attempt to guard himself from being loved. Because of what D has experienced he protects himself from ever trusting adults.

D's problems stem from his birth parents abuse and neglect followed by 14 months of multiple placements in state custody during his very early years of life. His best hope for the future is to be in a family with no younger children. He needs parents that can focus their attention primarily on him. D will need continued counseling and parents that are willing to learn about RAD. A therapeutic home environment will give D the absolute best chance to learn to trust and to love.
